We came to know that this beast is expected to drive up in the second half of this year. According to Max Weinbach, the same person who gave us a glimpse of Samsung Galaxy S20+, the smartphone will be revealed sometime after the Galaxy Unpacked event which is going to be held on February 11. As you guys have expected from every flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will be coming with a slew of upgrades.

Here are the Max Weinbach tweets:

Galaxy Z Flip Hardware Specifications

Firstly keeping one thing in our mind, that this smartphone would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC that will be coupled with the X50 5G modem. The foldable display is expected to get a slight bump and be an 8-inch panel compared to the 7.3-inch panel that was found on the original Fold. Also, like the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, the display will make use of ultra-thin glass for improved durability.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Display

According to Max Weinbach, the new hinge that had been used in Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will make the display rotate from 90 degrees to 180 degrees. At 90 degrees the Galaxy Z Flip would look like a sitting laptop having its lid open – and would be used for basic applications like Google Duo and other camera applications.

When the smartphone is put in this mode, the display will be divided into two parts alike Samsung Galaxy Fold, but this time in a horizontal manner. Because of this, the elements from the User Interface will shift towards the bottom display whereas the top display will showcase you the video or camera feed.

Let’s Talk About Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Camera

Now here comes the most valuable part, the smartphone itself offers the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX 108MP sensor that we first saw on the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro). It is expected that the same sensor will also available in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.

Last but not the least, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to house an S-Pen this time around. This is quite an interesting development as this might just mean we’re nearing the end of the famed Galaxy Note series. But we will remember the Galaxy Note series because that was legendary series and legend never dies.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Expected Price

It is being said that Galaxy Z Flip will be more affordable than the previous Samsung Galaxy Fold, which was launched with a price tag of $1980 ( Rs.164990 ). Other notable features of the phone are that is been packed with 256GB of memory, a 3,300/3,500mAh battery, 6GB RAM and a dual-camera primary setup that is said to consist of a 12MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide sensor.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Fold series replace the Samsung Galaxy Note series?

There was a solid rumour that floated on the internet, last year. The rumour pointed towards the possibility of Samsung killing the Note and S series altogether and amalgamate both brands into a single line. This rumour had a solid foundation as over the years the Samsung Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note series had become quite similar to each other. The S-Pen was the only major differentiator.

So, instead of keeping both the S and the Note series alive, Samsung would simply bundle an S-Pen with the S series and get rid off the Note series. But this would leave the second half of the year without a flagship launch from the Korean brand. And as we all know, the launch of the Note series is strategically done to compete with the launch of Apple’s new iPhone. This is exactly where the Samsung Galaxy Fold series would step in and take the baton from the Note line.

But this new piece of information from Max suggests something slightly different. Instead of bundling an S-Pen with the amalgamated offspring of the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note series, Samsung might be planning to bundle an S-Pen with the Galaxy Fold line-up. And if seen in a way, this marriage of a big screen with the S-Pen could prove to be the ultimate gadget for a creator. Although the durability of the screen, especially with the use of an S-Pen, could prove to be a problem.

Conclusion

We know Samsung very well. And we are pretty sure that this wait would be worthed. It will be interesting to see how Samsung takes this ahead. Expect more information to trickle really soon.
